About this Event
48 University Place
To create the current exhibit in the Silver Special Collections gallery, we explored our collections to find photographs showing Vermonters at work. The exhibit includes photographs of people working in granite quarries, maple sugar bushes, city streets, a university library, a wartime factory, and on farms during the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The display also includes a wall of portraits taken by Vermont photographer Peter Miller that record rural Vermonters who work in the woods, teach, operate post offices, brew beer, fight fires and fix small engines.
This exhibit is open M-F, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Billings Library, Silver Special Collections until June 30, 2025.
