For National Poetry Month, flex your creative writing muscle by adding your words to weekly poetry wall activities. Each week will have a different prompt, and the poems will be collected and curated to make zines.  

• April 6:  Colorful haiku - Choose a theme for inspiration and write a haiku on a colorful piece of paper 

• April 13: Blackout poetry - Take a page from a book and “black out” words to create a poem with the remaining words. Title the poem and pin it to the wall. 

• April 20: Poetree - Using the nature-themed prompt on the back, write a short poem on a “leaf” and tack it to the tree display.   

• April 27: Collaborative poems - Add a line to a collaborative wall poem. Be creative!
