Event Description:

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

This course is for all levels of employees at the University of Vermont. The knowledge gained in this course may be applicable to your personal or professional interactions with friends, colleagues, neighbors, community members, or family.  

**The course requires 2 hours of pre-work independently online, followed by both online sessions required for completion of certification.

Other Information:

Class participants will recieve directions from the instructor regarding pre-work links, and the meeting link. Completion of the certification will be reported as Professional Development to the HR Talent Development office for existance on the record of employment.
