"Treading the Public/Private Divide"
Michael Baysa, Religion
How do we decide in our research whether the text or speech we're analyzing should be considered public and private? In our second faculty colloquium, Dr. Baysa will draw on some insights from his forthcoming book manuscript and explore how scholars in his field have drawn boundaries between what we might consider sources that are private and public. The discussion afterward will draw out the stakes in distinguishing between public and private, as well as explore opportunities and possibilities when we blur or discard them altogether.
Space is limited and reserved for faculty. Lunch will be provided. RSVP is required. Please follow the link below to RSVP. Questions? Humanities.Center@uvm.edu
