DESCRIPTION:From Popular Cultures to Erudite Art: Movimento Armorial in Bra
 zil’s Contemporary Dance\n\nA Workshop by Paula Higa\, Choreogpaher and 
 Professor of Dance at UVM School of the Arts\n\n \n\nIn this workshop\, pa
 rticipants will explore Brazilian culture through two main segments: learn
 ing and creation. Higa will present her research on the polycentric body\,
  influenced by Ariano Suassuna's concept of Movimento Armorial. Together\,
  participants will cultivate their creativity and curiosity while embarkin
 g on a transformative journey that is both physical and cultural.\n\n \n\n
 Paula Higa is a dance maker\, filmmaker\, and the artistic director of PH 
 Dance. She has spent many years creating\, teaching\, and researching danc
 e. Higa produces sophisticated and thought-provoking performances that ble
 nd dance with visual arts. Her work addresses social issues and amplifies 
 underrepresented voices while exploring the relationship between the body\
