About this Event
View mapJoin Dr. Jason Davis, Director of Climate Stories Project and Gund Institute Macmillan Scholar in Residence, for a series of events on UVM campus that engage with the theme of Improvisation as a way to respond to rapid environmental and social changes affecting our communities. During this event, Sound Walk and Listening Session, Jason will introduce composer Pauline Oliveros' practice of Deep Listening, a way of tuning in to the environment and to each other through listening. We will then do an outdoor sound walk, where we carefully listen, map, and record environmental sounds. Back inside, we will carry out a listening, discussion, and recording session based on the theme of Improvising the Future. Please RSVP if you would like to join us!
