DESCRIPTION:Physics and Chemistry Seminar\n\nFeaturing Dr. Thomas Allison \
nAssociate Professor in Chemistry and Physics\nStony Brook University\n\nWe
 dnesday\, February 18\, 2026\n\nInnovation E432\n\nDr. Allison's talk will
explore the interface between physics and chemistry.\n\nBio: Dr. Allison's
research group develops and utilizes new light sources and techniques to fo
llow the motions of electron\, holes\, and nuclei in molecular and condense
d matter systems on ultrafast time scales. Developing new technologies and
physics ideas go hand in hand with gaining insight into ultrafast dynamics.
We have built two novel instruments in the lab\, one for Cavity-Enhanced U
ltrafast Optical Spectroscopy\, and another for XUV Time-Resolved Photoelec
tron Spectroscopy (TRPES). Both are based upon our home-built frequency com
b lasers. Up-to-date developments and publications can be found at the grou
 p website here.
