Weather and conditions permitting, the rink will be open daily 11:00am-10:00pm.  During operational hours, lights will inform skaters of the rink status: green (open) or red (closed).

 

- Rink is open to UVM students only.

- Hockey sticks, pucks, balls or other objects are not permitted on the ice.

- Boots may be worn on the rink but must be cleared of road salt, sand and other debris.  Boot brushes are available on the north side (Living & Learning and Main St.) of the rink.

- Helmets and other protective gear are highly recommended.

- Shovels are available for snow removal; when finished using return to designated
areas.

- All skaters should keep a safe distance from the edges of the rink.

- Skaters and spectators may not sit or lean on, lean over or leave items on the boards (walls of the rink).

- Beginner skaters should remain towards the center of the rink.

- Skate in a controlled manner without endangering or interfering with other skater’s safety; you are responsible for knowing the range of your ability.

- No food, drinks or pets on the ice.  No glass in the vicinity of the rink.  No skateboards, sleds, bicycles, skis, snowboards, or roller skates/blades on the ice.

- Do not leave shovels or other items on the rink.

- Be aware of and use caution around any soft spots, rough areas/edges, water puddles or other hazards on or around the rink.

- Kicking holes, chipping or gouging ice is prohibited.

- Do not skate or enter the rink area while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other control-impairing substances.

- Participants must abide by all UVM and Vermont Department of Health current health and safety guidance.

 

Ice skating and similar ice-related activities have inherent risks including head injury and death.  Skaters must skate within their abilities and avoid contact with other skaters.  All skaters are encouraged to wear helmets and other protective gear.  All users of this facility do so at their own risk.
