KIMONO:

Garment, Canvas, and Artistic Muse

September 9 - December 6, 2025

Explore the iconic Japanese kimono—its form, decoration, and symbolism—as embodied through works of textiles, ceramic, glass, metal, and more by such international contemporary artists as Itchiku Kubota, Karen LaMonte, and Michael F. Rohde.

Visions of Gathering and Community by Northern Vermont Artists

Highlighting works which underscore our shared belief in the power of art to bring people together and nurture community, we are thrilled to continue the Fleming’s rich connection with the Northern Vermont Artist Association (NVAA) to present this juried group show.

Dancing, eating, connecting—all forms of gathering are on display in this latest installation of our museum-wide reimagining of the collections galleries. Celebrating our shared human experiences, these newly installed works from our collections feature artists Hilda Belcher, Francis Ray Hewitt, Paul Sample, and more.
