OLLI AT UVM PRESENTS

In this writing workshop for both beginners and seasoned writers, widely-published author Geof Hewitt will provide writing prompts and engage all participants with his approach to poem-writing. Hewitt believes that pre-thinking one's writing results in predictable outcomes, while quickwriting (his word for stream of consciousness) allows for surprise and sometimes stunning zigs and zags. Participants will leave the session with at least three drafts of three new poems. Please bring notebook and your favorite writing implement. Held in Shelburne.

Required Reading/Materials: No required reading. Please bring composition book and pen or pencil.

Suggested Reading: Good Poems, ed. by Garrison Keillor and Poetry 180, ed. by Billy Collins
