UVM Dining’s Local Meets Global series welcomes The Caracas on March 25 at Redstone Dining, starting at 4:30 PM (while supplies last).

All students, faculty, and staff are welcome, with access via Meal Swipes or a door price of $12.70 (Retail Points, CAT$cratch, or Credit/Debit).

The Caracas: Bringing the Flavors of Venezuela to Vermont

For Juan, food has always been more than nourishment—it’s a connection to home, culture, and community. Five years ago, he left Venezuela in search of opportunity, but the communal spirit of cooking and sharing meals remained central to his life. His mother and abuelita instilled in him a love for the kitchen, where food was always a uniting force.

 

More than just a food truck, Caracas is Juan’s way of giving back. His dream is to one day open a Caracas coffee shop, where curious eaters can explore his culture, take part in arepa and cachapa workshops, and find a place where they are cared for—deliciously.
