The United States endeavors to be an impartial broker in negotiations over Israel-Palestine.

To what extent has the United States fulfilled this requirement, and how possible is it for the United States to fulfill this?

Khaled Elgindy of the Middle East Institute discusses the history of US involvement in Israel-Palestine negotiations, questions whether it has served as a fair broker and  provides suggestions for how US policy could be more productive. The talk will include a debate with Middle East Studies director Peter Henne, and a Q&A with the audience.

Khaled Elgindy is the director of the Middle East Institute’s Program on Palestine and Israel-Palestinian affairs. He is the author of Blind Spot: America and the Palestinians, from Balfour to Trump, and previously served as an advisor to the Palestinian leadership.
