Intersection of Feminism & Queerness in 20th Century Black Film
About this Event
View mapJoin Prism at UVM for their November installment of their Skill Share Series, this time in collaboration with the Mocaic Intercultural Center and the Black Student Union.
Kiersten White, filmmaker (director and producer), will be focusing on 20th century black film that explores queerness (in more ways than just sexuality) through the lens of strong black female leads from Southern Gothics like Daughters of The Dust and Eve’s Bayou to urban melodramas such as The Women of Brewster Place. Drop in to join this casual discussion while receiving a more formal understanding of how these niche characters can inspire our conceptualization of a decolonized present.
