Together, our panelists have experience working for the State Department, the US Agency for International Development, global consulting firms, and development organizations. Ā We will learn about their work, how they started their careers, and hear about advice for students interested in working internationally.

Alex Auman (she/her) (UVM '09) is a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, representing the American people and the U.S. government abroad as a professional diplomat.Ā
She has served the United States in Iraq, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, and Hungary. Alex graduated from UVM with a BA in 2009 with majors in Political Science and History, and has a MA in International Security from the University of Denver.Ā
Kellen McClure (UVM '08)serves as an anti-corruption advisor for the Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, where he coordinates U.S. policy on Ā multilateral anti-corruption issues.Ā
He manages U.S. engagement in the anti-corruption working groups in the G7, G20, and United Nations and serves as the lead U.S. expert in the Organization of American States' anti-corruption review body. Ā Prior to working at the State Department, Kellen worked on Africa policy and programming at Freedom House. Ā
Maddie Tagatac (UVM '21) is a contractor with USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) in the Office of the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe (MENAE) supporting the office's disaster response operations and management systems.
They have supported several of the Bureau's leading priority humanitarian responses such as the Ukraine, Yemen, and Gaza complex emergencies, including a recent overseas assignment to Amman, Jordan to provide operational support to our field-based teams in the region.Ā
