Learning Objectives:
1.Compare the efficacy, safety, and mechanisms of action of cellular therapies for inflammatory bowel disease including mesenchymal stem cells, autologous HSCT, and allogeneic HSCT and identify appropriate patient populations for each approach based on disease phenotype.
2. Describe the immunological basis of "immune resetting" following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for Crohn's disease, including T-cell reconstitution kinetics, myeloid lineage remodeling, and the clinical phenomenon of regained responsiveness to previously failed biologic therapies.
