The Faculty Edit: Framing Photo-Secession features selected works from the Museum’s collections as curated by UVM’s School of the Arts faculty Nicole Bull, Ace Lehner, Bill McDowell, and Sarah Richter. The exhibit will be on view Tuesday, March 24 through Saturday, March 28 in the Fleming’s Learning Studio during regular visiting hours and a panel discussion with the faculty-curators will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 5pm.

Placed in conversation with our featured exhibition, Photo-Secession: Painterly Masterworks of Turn-of-the-Century Photography, this pop-up exhibit dives deeper into the spirited artists and pivotal moments in photography’s early history, such as when Clara E. Sipprell, became the first female artist to have an artwork acquired by the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1932. Works by Sipprell will also be on view in collaboration with Silver Special Collections.
