In times of struggle, human-to-human connection provides the foundation for community resilience. We invite you to gather with fellow UVM colleagues for a panel discussion with CALS faculty and special guests to explore what local democracy looks like, how to combat isolationism, and cultivate resilience through civic engagement. Our panelists include:

  • Antonio Golán, Public Communication Lecturer, Dept. of Community Development & Applied Economics
  • Meghan O’Rourke, Co-Executive Director of CCTV Center for Media & Democracy
  • Mariya Shcheglovitova, Extension Assistant Professor of Community & Economic Development
  • Michael Wood-Lewis, Founder & CEO of Front Porch Forum

The panel will be from ~1:30 - 2:30 followed by time for conversation, connection, food and refreshments. Open to all UVM students, faculty, staff, and guests.

We strongly encourage in-person attendance, but there will be an online option. PLEASE REGISTER to reserve a seat or receive the virtual viewing link.
