Domestic Travel Study: Faculty Lunch & Learn
About this Event
85 S Prospect St, Burlington, VT 05401
The CAS Office of Experiential Learning & Discovery would like to invite CAS Faculty “Lunch & Learn” focused on creating domestic short-term Travel Study courses (1-3 weeks). As part of our mission to expand the breadth of hands-on learning opportunities available to students, we have been tasked by the Dean to build upon our range of successful international programs with some that land closer to home.
This year (AY 2025-2026) we are running three programs to U.S. locations: a Biology course to the Sky Islands region of Arizona with Dr. Elise Lauterbur, a Geography course to New Orleans with Dr. Tyler Sonnichsen, and a Political Science course to Washington, DC with Dr. Peter Henne. Thus far, we have been very pleased with the student response to these courses, but we know that there are infinitely more locations and subject areas to explore!
Please join us on THURSDAY, October 9th at 12p.m. in Waterman 427A to learn more about how to propose, plan, and lead a course to a U.S. location. Proposals for Winter, Spring, and Summer 2027 courses will be due by December 1, so this is a good time to learn more about the process.
Lunch will be provided: Assorted sandwiches, cookies, drinks, etc.
If you have any questions, want to know more about the event, or can’t attend but would like to receive materials after the event, please contact Sophia Trigg at strigg@uvm.edu
