Be a part of an eye-opening conversation about the United States’ recycling future.

Join the Casella Center for Circular Economy and Sustainability as local and regional leaders share how recovered glass moves through – and sometimes falls out of – our recycling system.

Discover how Vermont tackles contamination, transportation costs, and the elusive “second life” of post-consumer glass. Hear first-hand how industry innovators are turning yesterday’s bottles into tomorrow’s roads, buildings, and products – and what challenges remain.

Whether you’re curious about sustainable design, circular economy solutions, or simply where your empty jar ends up, this panel will leave you inspired and engaged.

Panelists include:

  • Kelton Bogasky, Area Sales Manager, Casella Waste Systems, Inc.
  • Josh Estey, Director of Operations, Chittenden Solid Waste District (CSWD)
  • Lizzy Elles, Operations Initiatives Manager, Casella Waste Systems, Inc.
  • Glenn Goodfellow, VP Business Development, Le Maître Emballage Durable
  • Rob Conboy, CEO of Glavel

This event will set the stage for the inaugural Casella Center Student Design Competition kickoff at 5:00 PM EST, where UVM students will discover how they can help shape a more circular economy by envisioning new futures for glass. Teams will be challenged to pitch bold, practical solutions for reimagining the use of recycled glass, from infrastructure to new products, and will compete for a $2,000 grand prize at the final showcase.
