In Italy, in the 90s, a woman's rapist was convicted, then freed by the Supreme Court, which ruled that that survivor's tight jeans implied consent. Outraged by this verdict, Italian parliament members wore jeans in protest. This spread to California and Peace of Violence created Denim Day to challenge vicitim blaming myths and to show solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. Find out more here.
