Title: Exploring the Motivic Zeta Function of a Matroid: An Expository Talk

Abstract: In 2019, Jensen, Kutler, and Usatine defined the motivic zeta function of a matroid, providing a finer invariant than the characteristic polynomial. This talk will define the motivic zeta function and show that it satisfies a functional equation analogous to those found in classical zeta function theory. Its connections to other matroid invariants will also be explored.
