Information about the LDI and both of our cohorts is below. The LDI is dedicated to cultivating a diverse cohort of aspiring physician leaders who are committed to their patients and communities. Through two cohorts, the LDI offers medical students, residents, and fellows a unique opportunity to gain individualized insight into the skills needed to foster their careers and the future of medicine. LDI participants receive professional development opportunities and are paired with an experienced physician leader to work with throughout the program year. The Healthcare Administration and Management (HAM) cohort will continue to provide final year medical students with an opportunity to learn from and network with leaders in their fields and organized medicine. Through two in-person events, monthly webinars, and a year-long mentor program, participants will gain insights and develop leadership skills to utilize in residency and beyond. Applicants for the HAM cohort must be rising final year medical students set to graduate in 2026, enrolled in an accredited U.S. allopathic or osteopathic medical school, and be permanent U.S. residents or citizens. The new Health Policy and Patient Advocacy (HPPA) cohort will provide an opportunity to all medical students, residents, and fellows to gain insight into health policy processes in organized medicine, as well as in state and federal government. The cohort will develop leadership skills and competencies to become health policy and patient advocates in their fields and beyond. This cohort will have the exclusive opportunity to attend the Medical Student Advocacy Conference (MAC) (medical students only) or the National Advocacy conference (NAC) (resident and fellows only) in addition to the other in-person events, virtual education sessions, and mentorship opportunities.Students can find more information and start an application by clicking here.
