UVM's Comics-Based Research Lab & Proud Little State present: A Hands-On Introduction to Comics-Based Research.

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Proud Little State’s first comic on Burlington’s 1983 Pride Parade, join Luis Vivanco of the UVM Comics-Based Research Lab in a hands-on exploration of the relationship between research and comics. After a brief introduction, participants will work on a storytelling exercise and create a four-panel comic about their own research projects or interests in a comic zine. This workshop specifically celebrates the research and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community, but all are welcome! No drawing or art skills are required. 

This event is free, and CBR Lab will provide all necessary supplies from the famed Petting Zoo, a double-decker rolling bag full of comics supplies.
